About Tesera

Concept

Evolutionary Sustainability

Tesera is a flexible piece of furniture that changes its form freely according to the needs of the user. By reassembling parts, incorporating new elements, and adjusting size and function, Tesera evolves into a new piece of furniture that meets the needs of the moment. Even if one of the components becomes defective after a long period of use, it can be replaced and the Tesera can be brought back to life again.

Creating rich spaces with Japanese aesthetics
Modular furniture born in Kanazawa

Inspired by the lifestyle design traditions of Kanazawa, Tesera was created with the concept of minimal design, flexibility, and sustainability, reimagined in a contemporary context.

Minimal design" of the urban landscape with beautiful and functional machiya houses, which are in harmony with each other, lined up with delicately designed lattice doors called "Mushiko" unique to Kanazawa, and with movable posts, shoji screens, sliding doors, and other partitions that are unique to traditional Japanese wooden architecture. Sustainability: Sustaining the long-lasting use of the house while repairing and restoring it, the house will continue to change as people live out their lives, and will be remembered together.

Through modular furniture with Japanese aesthetic sense, we propose the value of taking good care of things and using them for a long time.
